The Abenaki Outing Club learn to ski program is for children ages 4,5,6 or 7 years old that have very little to no experience in skiing, but desire to learn the fundamentals of skiing in a small lesson environment.

The learn to ski program will focus on getting skiers comfortable with the following:

  1. Comfort in wearing ski equipment

  2. Learning how to skate around on skis

  3. Snow plow turns

  4. Snow plow stops

  5. Riding the rope tows at Abenaki

The goal will be for skiers at the end of the 5 lessons to have the ability to ride the rope tow up the kiddie side and ski down independently.

Classes will run for 1 hour and have up to ~10 participants in each class.

It is expected that parents help participants have all snow gear and in equipment and prepared for class to start 5 minutes before class starts.  This will allow class to start on time.

These classes will be held while the Abenaki Ski Team is also practicing.  The mountain opens for public skiing on Saturday at 11AM.

It will be a requirement of participants to purchase an Abenaki Ski Area seasons pass  To purchase a pass go to:  https://www.wolfeboronh.us/parks-recreation

Scholarships are available to support the cost of the class, season passes and equipment.
