Abenaki Race Team is a US Ski & Snowboard recognized program that encourages and develops young ski racers in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.  The team hosts programs for the 6-14-year-olds with the help of our enthusiastic coaches, organizers, and volunteers.

Regular practices are held Tues & Thursday nights, and Saturday mornings from December to March. Our racers also partake in US Ski & Snowboard sanctioned races throughout New Hampshire.

Our U8 program is for 6 and 7 year olds. Children entering this program should be able to ride the rope tow and have been skiing for at least 1 season. The season is spent learning basic ski fundamentals, including turning technique and exposure to gates.

Our U10 Program is for 8 and 9 year olds. Athletes will begin learning race specific fundamentals and have the chance to compete in a few local races. We focus on lots of skiing with our U10's to give them a strong skiing base.

Our U12 program is for 10 and 11 year old athletes. At this point there will be an increased focus on training in gates and working on race-specific techniques and tactics. At this age racers will compete throughout our region and have a chance to qualify for a state and regional level of competition.

Our U14 Program is for 12 and 13 year old athletes. Many of these athletes will compete at a state level and have a chance to qualify for races throughout the USSA Eastern Region The focus of this age group is to train well-rounded competitors and hone technical and tactical race skills.

We do offer training to U16 athletes on Thursday nights. This is an opportunity for athletes who have grown up through our program to get more structured hill time and stay connected with our team as they pursue racing in high school and beyond.
