Age groups
Four groups, by age on December 31, 2026. Each one has its own page: what the year is for, when it trains, what to bring, and the skills the coaches work on.

U8
Ages 6–7
For a kid who can ride the big rope tow. The year is mileage, games and drill courses rather than results: balance, a first feel for gates, and enough fun that skiing sticks. Very little racing, if any.

U10
Ages 8–9
The start of a two- to four-year plan. Athletes ski every surface the hill gives them, corduroy to bumps to ice, and pick up the mental habits that go with racing. They enter a few local races, for the experience rather than the result.

U12
Ages 10–11
Slalom, giant slalom and the first speed skills, trained in gates. Coaches plan each athlete's season around where that athlete actually is, and technique comes before speed. Racing runs through the region and ends at the qualifying races for the age group.

U14
Ages 12–13
The fundamentals of slalom, giant slalom and speed skills are built on and patterned toward mastery. Athletes at this age need to focus on skiing fast and well, not just fast, and that is what gives them the tools to succeed at the next level and beyond. Some are invited to train super-G.
